In Bangladesh, Pharmaceutical sector is one of the most developed high-tech sector which is contributing in the country's economy. Nowadays, this sector is providing 95% of the total medicine requirement of the local market. The professional knowledge, collaborative supply chain management practices, thoughts and innovative ideas of the pharmacists working in this sector are the key factors for these developments. Recently, researchers have highlighted the multidimensional nature of collaboration that goes beyond the exchanged of information. Collaborative practices should also incorporate joint decision-making and the alignment of incentives. With regard to information exchanged, the pharmaceutical industry has shared information for many years to arguably an unparalleled level compared with other industries. However, information quality has been largely overlooked by previous research. Research has thus essentially oversimplified the complex nature of supply chain collaboration. There appears to be a gap in the literature acknowledging the multidimensional and complex nature of collaboration and linking it to information quality.

One to one visits from the MRs have been proven to be the most effective way to promote drugs to physicians, because they can identify the main motivators and decision-making styles of the person they are selling to and adapt to their approach accordingly [19]In the context of Bangladesh, without any pharmaceutical patent regime, the advantages are cheaper generics for essential medicinesAnalysis Content analysis was done of the data from in-depth interview with consolidation of sub-themes and themesData were collected from Dhaka, Chittagong and Bogra districts through in-depth interview (healthcare providers and MRs), observation (physician-MR interaction), and round table discussion (chief executives and top management of the pharmaceutical companies)MRs11 MRs (Interviews wereconducted with MRs of variouspharmaceutical companies, both local and multinational)3It also largely failed to prevent the appearance of substandard and spurious pharmaceuticals on the market, unethical promotion, and the proliferation of harmful and useless pharmaceuticals.36 To address these weaknesses, the Government of Bangladesh introduced amendments to the Drugs Act, 1940 and the Drug Rules of 1945 and 1946 to provide further regulation relating to labelling and packing, biologicals, and other special products31 Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Market, Q 2, 2010 (Espicom Business Intelligence, 2010)Restriction on import of certain pharmaceutical raw material(1) No pharmaceutical raw material necessary for the manufacture of any medicine specified in any of the Schedules shall be importedOf the 48 countries classified as LDCs,124 Bangladesh is the only one that has the pharmaceutical manufacturing capability to be (nearly) self-sufficient in pharmaceuticals.125 Considering the manufacturing capacity of local pharmaceutical companies and the waiver for pharmaceuticals until 2033, Bangladesh has the ability and opportunity to produce generic versions of patented medications to service the pharmaceutical needs of other poor countries that have no or low manufacturing capacity.126The Drugs Act, 1940 was to be revised and replaced by new drug legislation with provision for a system of drug registration and control: control over prices of finished products and raw materials, and over the manufacture and sale of drugsMRs agreed unanimously that they spent more time in detailing to village doctors rather than MBBS doctors, because village doctors were less knowledgeable about drugs and received MR visits more enthusiastically118 During interviews, an expert on patent law in Bangladesh and a patent examiner at the DPDT, Dhaka, Bangladesh shared this concernTo illustrate: MRs are always anxious about meeting their targets there are several MRs with whom I have good relationshipDrug Interaction Management as Drug Related Problems in Patients Hospital Acute Respiratory Infections in Health Jumpandang Baru, Makassar PDF Gemy nastity handayany, Nurwahidah Nurwahidah 199-207 Cells Isolated from Cadaveric Bone Marrow are Safe for Use in Bone Healing and Effective at Promoting Osteogenic Re-construction PDF Wendy W Weston, Miguel Quevedo, Stuart Oglesby, Timothy Ganey, HOf the top 10 drugs in terms of local sales, none were supplied by multinationals (Table 2.11)80 Bangladesh: World Pharmaceutical Market, Q2 2010, Espicom Business Intelligence Report 20102.3 The Pharmaceutical Industry in Bangladesh 5d8a9798ff
